Kenya’s Hillary Chemweno is the winner of the 20th Wizz Air Skopje Marathon held on Sunday. Chemweno completed the 42km track in a time of 2 hours 13 minutes and 28 seconds.
His compatriot Daniel Kiprotich came second (2:13:53), while Macedonia’s best marathon runner Dario Ivanovski was third (2:16:26).
In the women’s race, Kenya’s Irine Jeruto was first with a time of 2 hours, 37 minutes and 52 seconds, followed by home runner Adrijana Pop Arsova (2:39:39) and Kenya’s Vivian Jelagat (2:44:16).
A record 13,400 runners from 55 countries took part in the Skopje Marathon, competing in the 42km marathon, half-marathon, relay race and a 5km race.
The Skopje Marathon is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Sport, supported by the City of Skopje and the EU Delegation to Skopje.
