A Supreme Court judge has been taken into custody over suspicions of bribery, the Interior Ministry said in a press release.
According to the release, the judge was charged with the crime of “receiving a reward for illegal influence” after being caught in the act.
The release said the Interior Ministry was awaiting a response from the public prosecution.
The judge has the right to invoke judicial immunity. It may be provided by a majority vote by the Judicial Council.
Sources from the Judicial Council told MIA they had not received any information related to the matter so far.
