The Macedonian feature film Amok, written and directed by Vardan Tozija, was one of the eight movies in the Beyond category vying at the Braunschweig Film Festival in Germany.
A total of 344 movies were submitted to the international festival.
Amok failed to get any award, however its leading star Martin Gjorkoski scooped a special recognition.
“Unfortunately, the award went to the Iranian film Lantouri, but the jury announced it had to award yet another prize – the special recognition for outstanding achievement of the up-and-coming actor Martin Gjorgoski from Macedonia for his role in Amok,” said Dream Factory Productions, which helped bring the film to the silver screen in co-production with Red Helicopter Films from Albania.
Amok was also financially supported by the Film Agency of Macedonia.
